About Greenbelt

The Ottawa Greenbelt is a large and winding crescent of land that surrounds the central neighborhoods of Ottawa, in which real estate development is strictly controlled.

The parkland that is protected maintains the value of the homes in central parts of Ottawa and increases high-rise development. Within the boundaries of the lush and natural greenbelt you have very popular urban and suburban areas in which at non-rush hour times access to downtown take no longer than 20 minutes by car, 35 minutes by bus.

Within the Greenbelt area you will find many communities with properties ranging from single-family homes, townhomes, multi-family projects and condominiums. This large area includes many ideal neighborhoods for raising a family, while still being close to the excitement and vibrant downtown. As this area does encompass the downtown core, high-rise condominiums are a popular choice as well.

This central location also includes many of Ottawa's beautiful National attractions such as Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court, Major Hill's Park, the National Art Centre, Rideau Centre, Chateau Laurier and many historical churches and sites. With so many tourist attractions, this is an area that is always vibrant and active. With everything within walking distance, it is a fantastic area to live.

As for transportation, there is easy access to the East, West or South of Ottawa with the highway 417 accessible by practically any spot in the Downtown core and every corner of the city.
